Personal Sunsets Tools is private software used by one person — its author — to prepare and publish videos to their own YouTube channel. It is not offered to anyone else. It has no accounts, no sign-ups, and no users other than its author.
What it accesses
With the author's explicit Google authorisation, it uses the YouTube Data API to:
- upload videos to the author's own channel as private drafts;
- set thumbnails on those videos;
- read the titles and tags of the author's own previously published videos, so that a new upload can reuse consistent tags.
It accesses no other Google service, and no data belonging to anybody else.
What it stores
The software runs on hardware controlled by the author. The Google OAuth refresh token is held
in a local .env file on that machine and is used solely to call the YouTube Data API
on the author's behalf. Video files and images stay on that machine until the author deletes them.
What it shares
Nothing. No data is sold, shared, transferred to any third party, or used for advertising, profiling, or training. The only outbound destination is Google's own YouTube API, which receives exactly the video, thumbnail and metadata the author chooses to upload.
Google user data
Use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. No Google user data is retained beyond what is described above.
Revoking access
Access can be withdrawn at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, which immediately and permanently ends the software's ability to reach any Google data.
